REEF
A brief overview of what you'll experience on some of the best dive sites in Fiji when diving with us. Over 11 years experience on these sites sees us best able to show you just what we have. We recommend around 5 days diving with us, longer if you don't mind repeat diving of sites. Places like Dream House sometimes need to be dived more than once to catch them at their best. We need to work with tides and currents to optimize your encounters with our hammerhead, grey reef & white tip sharks, and our very occasional silky, silver tip, tiger and bull sharks.
Dream House:
Max depth: 30m
Type of Dive: Moored (10 minutes from our Korosun marina)
Level: Intermediate/Advanced
Description: World famous in Fiji, this is a pelagic dive on the Hibiscus Highway side of Savusavu where you’ll encounter our resident school of scalloped hammerheads, grey reef and white-tip sharks, barracuda, bat fish, surgeon fish, unicorn fish, tuna, scorpion leaf fish, anemone fish and popcorn shrimp on adhesive anemones and maybe even a silky. Our favourite dive! We never get tired of seeing our hammerheads!!
Purple Garden:
Max depth: 25m
Type of Dive: Moored (10 minutes from our Korosun marina)
Level: Intermediate
Description: As the name suggests plentiful purple soft corals set apart this Hibiscus Highway side of Savusavu dive site as one of the best. Combine that with magic coral, sea fans, sea whips, nudibranchs and a fabulous swim thru, you’ll be the envy of your friends.
Dungeons and Dragons:
Max depth: 21m
Type of Dive: Live Boat/Drift (15 minutes from our Savasi Island marina)
Level: Intermediate
Description: Some rate this cavern and swim thru dive on the Hibiscus Highway side of Savusavu as a highlight in their dive experiences. Shrimp gobi, clams, fish nurseries, juvenile rock mover wrasse, popcorn shrimp on adhesive anemones, magic coral in abundance and a myriad of swim thrus and majestic caverns entice and entertain. J-9 just loves these swim thrus and caverns!!
Premium Dive Somosomo Straits
The Nursery
Max depth: 60 ft / 18m
Type of Dive: Easy Drift (15 minutes from our Savasi Island marina)
Level: All Levels
Description: Located near the entrance of a small passage on the Koro Sun barrier reef, this site is a breeding ground for white tip reef sharks and turtles. Consisting of huge mushroom coral heads, pinnacles covered in soft and hard coral and a bed of beautiful coral gardens, this dive will satisfy both experienced and beginner divers. For those seeking an easy dive with lots to see, this is the perfect dive.
Devil’s Hideout:
Max depth: 70ft/ 21m
Type of Dive: Drift (15 minutes from our Savasi Island marina)
Level: Intermediate
Description: Located only 5 minutes from our marina on the sheltered portion of the barrier reef, this dive site offers world class swim thrus and caverns. Lion fish, shrimp gobies, turtles and reef sharks inhabit these caverns. You will feel the adrenaline rush as you enter the Devils Hideout. Recommended for Intermediate divers as these caves have limited light and go deep within the reef.
Pyramids:
Max depth: 21m
Type of Dive: Pinnacle (15 minutes from our Savasi Island marina)
Level: Intermediate
Description: Consisting of 3 pinnacles projecting from 100ft to within 30ft from the surface, this site offers a chance to shoals of bat fish, huge sea fans, turtles, sharks, healthy hard corals and many species of tropical fish.
Coral Garden:
Max depth: 21m
Type of Dive: Easy Drift (15 minutes from our Savasi Island marina)
Level: Intermediate
Description: Located directly across Koro Sun Resort on the barrier reef, Coral Garden offers the chance to see healthy colonies of hard coral species with giant clams, moray eels, eagle rays, pop, micro critters and occasional pelagic cruising the outer edge. An ideal spot for those wishing to do an easy dive with lots to see. This sites poses some of the healthiest corals on the Savusavu barrier reef.
Turtle Alley:
Max depth: 100ft/ 30m
Type of Dive: Drift (5 minutes from our Savasi Island marina)
Level: All Levels
Description: A wall dive with canyons and a series of coral head. A great sight to encounter turtles, wide species of hard coral, soft coral, occasional pelagic and micro creatures. Suitable for beginners and advanced divers. Located in sheltered waters, this site is accessible in all weather.
Grotto:
Max depth: 60ft/ 18m
Type of Dive: Mooring (5 minutes from our Savasi Island marina)
Level: Intermediate
Description: This is a shallow and attractive dive located close to the Koro Sun channel that offers an amazing variety of hard coral, micro creatures, clams and many tropical fish species. An ideal spot for beginners as the reef gradually slope from shallow water towards the deep.
Pams Table:
Max depth: 80ft/ 25m
Type of Dive: Drift (15 minutes from our Savasi Island marina)
Level: All Levels
Description: This site is named after cyclone PAM. It was discovered a day before cyclone PAM hit the pacific and the highlight of this dive are the abundance of huge table coral. This sites is home to some of the healthiest table coral with many tropical fish. Eagle Rays, moray eels, octopus, reef sharks and lots of micro critters add flavour to this amazing reef scape. Ranked amongst the best in Savusavu.
