Tips from Namena

Fiji's weather is tropical and our resort is casual so pack light. Shorts, tee-shirts, bathing suits; typical resort wear; although in Fiji's winter months (June thru September) the tradewinds bring cooler temperatures so a windbreaker or light summer sweater and a pair of long pants would be suitable in the evening. Average temperature is 80-85 degrees F. November-May which is spring/summer in the land downunder; June-September, our winter months, average is 72-78 degrees F. The traditional wrap-around called a sulu in Fiji is worn by both women and men (you will find a gift of a sulu upon check-in) and we keep a stock if you'd like to add to your wardrobe. Local custom frowns upon topless or nude sunbathing.

Sunscreen and a hat; medicines should be packed in your carry-on along with a change of clothing (shorts & tee-shirt) ... very seldom does baggage go missing for long but we are remote and it could take a couple of days to get to the island. We have a limited supply of toiletries, film, batteries, etc. so do keep that in mind.

We want you to enjoy your Fiji holidays so in choosing the resort best-suited for you, we would like to help you make the right choice. If you want hot tubs, spas, piped musak, nightly live entertainment, swimming pools, tennis courts, a golf course, shopping sprees ... then Namena Island should not be your choice.

If you are searching for relaxation, beaches where yours may be the only footprints, bushwalks, snorkeling, hammock-testing, star-gazing, birdwatching, scuba diving, reading a good book ... a place to recharge your body's batteries ... then Namena is your island nirvana.
